Why do I love living here?

Out for a walk with the Baskervilles, saw this, stopped and stared.

IMG_20150928_201634I’ve travelled the world (and the seven seas as the beautiful Ms Lennox once said) and often forget how Mother Nature has the ability to take my breath away right here at home. My slightly blurred smartphone photograph really doesnt do justice to the colours.

I congratulate you on rediscovering a great truth… that there is beauty all around us, if we but lift up our heads and experience it. I doubt if it’s the first time you’ve noticed this, but I’m glad you were able to share your thoughts this time. And another great truth… many times, beauty is impossible to capture with a camera and we have to be content to hold it in our hearts.

I was lucky to have been born and raised in Oregon, a state that has a beautiful coastline, gorgeous mountains and lakes, and awesome deserts. Occasionally, I remind myself that people travel from all over the world to experience a place that I call home and often take for granted. It’s good to be reminded of our blessings.

    • Its one of things that I know, but I often forget I know. Like you, I sometimes have to force myself to remember that people pay to come on holiday to a place I call home and when I do I once again remind myself how lucky I am.
