At first I was afraid, I was petrified ..

I’m not scared of much in life, rats, the dentist and the angry 5 foot Breton that lives here are about the only things that cause me fear.

Last night though, I was about as scared as I’ve ever been in my life. Stood in front of about 35 people, I only knew two of them, all of them waiting for me to sing.

After many afternoons of practising the time had finally come for me to sing at a friends birthday party, with two excellent guitarists accompanying me.

The first song went terribly, I was just so nervous, but after that it seemed to go quite well.

100_3863I think.

100_3881No rotten tomato headed my way so I reckon I got away with it.

100_3884 copyThank heavens its over and done with and I’m not convinced that its something that I want to do again, even though the two guitarists are very keen that we play in the local pub from time to time.

Looks like a good time was had by all…. what kind of libations were involved? 😉
That is an excellent photo of you and your guitarists. What songs were in your repertoire that night?

    • The sweet sherry in deepest Bretagne is reputed for being potent!!
I honestly cant remember what I sang, a few French songs, Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, couple of others, we were there for about an hour or so, it was night time, we were outside, it wasnt warm but I was soaked to the skin by the time I’d finished.

Sounds like you acquitted yourself admirably. I would have enjoyed sampling that sherry and sharing a harmony on a couple of the songs. Fortunately, I’m sufficiently senior to you so that I wouldn’t risk the ire of your “angry 5 foot Breton.” 🙂
I’m hoping the weather will hold here long enough to arrange a similar soiree.

    • It was great fun once I’d got into it. You needn’t worry about the 5ft angry Breton, she’s calmer than a calm thing with everyone else. There is a photo taken on the night with me singing and three of the girls who were there behind me on backing vocals, so it was pretty much open mic towards the end.
Here’s hoping your weather holds for you, fun times with friends (or unknowns in my case) are to be treasured.
