I’ve been very lucky over the years and travelled to many places, I’m currently on over 100 countries visited (I MUST make a list one day soon of exactly how many) but I’m not sure I’ve ever seen anywhere as beautiful as this.
In 1995 a group of 10 friends flew to Toronto, drove across Canada to the Rockies, hiked around the mountains for a bit and then drove back to Toronto via The USA stopping at Detroit and Chicago.
So many stories to tell, so many that must remain untold. Three weeks of firsts.
The whole trip was fantastic, with the exception of Detroit, of which more another day, but the scenery in the Rockies, especially here in Lake Louise was something I’ll never forget.
As much as we looked, we didn’t see one bear whilst walking. 10 raucous blokes make enough noise to scare most things, so the bears would have been long gone. The only one we saw, we drove by it as it was digging rubbish out of somebody’s bin.
Paddling on the lake was peaceful, serene even, and the views that accompanied us are still etched in my mind.
I just don’t think I’ve ever been anywhere more beautiful.
