Another year over

So, December 25, Christmas for those of a Christian faith or upbringing has been and gone.

For me, as for many others, twas just another day in the office. I got up at 7, was in work for 8, had a cheeky coffee and cake around 10, had a swim in the pool just before midday, had pizza for my dinner (lunch if you’re posh) sat about the office in the afternoon and then went back to the hotel and spent a quiet night until about 10pm when I took someone to the airport and waved them off with a cheery smile.

Oh, and this being Africa, our phone lines were down all day yesterday in the office so couldnt even phone the grandkids to wish them a merry Christmas.

I hope everyone reading this had a better one than I did.

On the plus side, I’m home in two days, its my birthday in six and I shall be passing it in the company of close friends.

I was too  grumpy to write this yesterday, but my best wishes of the season to one and all.

  1. You probably now I don’t celebrate any holidays… but not being able to phone your kids and grands on a day that is important to them is pretty rotten. We skied yesterday, of course, and I got zero sleep last night so am taking the day off to bask in the glow of free WiFi at the local trattoria (there is no internet in the ski house)… ahhhhh… it feels good to be connected again! Have safe travels, you… xx MH

    • Hope you’ve got some snow, there’s plenty in the UK at the moment. Oh the irony.
Yeah was pretty miffed, being a grandparent yourself, you know that grandkids are just the best invention ever. Still, worse things happen at sea as the old phrase has it.
Enjoy the rest of your hols and safe travels home, I fly tonight and am looking forward to attacking the beer mountain that had better be chilling in my fridge!!
