Loved this fella.
Puts me in mind of more than a few people I have met over the years…

You and me both my friend.
Looks a bit like the dinosaur version of my new hens… haha! Lovely…
Few seconds later his head was right in the car looking for things to steal, the cheeky rascal.
Is it an emu?
Yes, and you can’t see his three friends who were heading to the car as well, as I’d stopped to say hello.
I do love birds (as you know!) They are cheeky for sure… natural born thieves, the lot of them. But loveable somehow. It is like they are little kids who have never “grown up” in a way. When they cock their heads, all full of curiosity, one just HAS to smile! 🙂 I pray we never truly lose that sense of wonder!
’tis that exact sense of wonder that keeps me heading to far flung corners, and just to the village next door. I like to think I have a very similar look to those birds, curious and always wanting to know more.

It’s not a bad look… I am sure you are rockin’ it, buddy! 😀
Where are you adventuring now, that emus can wander by to pay their respects?
Would you believe not too far from home. Huge safari park not too far from me, I was babysitting my friends kids for the weekend so we took them there. I love it probably a bit more than they do.
Always remember going to a wildlife park, going into the emu enclosure with my friend, her mother and a packet of chips….friend’s mother put the packet of chips under her cardigan…the emu’s were pinching her all over. She couldn’t get those chips out fast enough 😀
The young man in the picture had his head right in the car and stole our popcorn. The kids were in fits of laughter, as were the adults. They’re brilliant things.
