Its not an abstract concept people. I accept that there are still places in this wonderful world where time isn’t measured in hours and minutes, but by the sun and the seasons.
These must be wonderful places to live, where time will pass at the same speed as time in most other places, but with a different pace. I would venture to suggest though that these places dont run airlines or motor cars.
in places where such modern marvels do run, time is not an abstract concept, and neither is a timetable. A timetable (the clue honestly is there people) is a table, of times. What this means is that if I look at a timetable, and it tells me the plane will take off at a certain time, thats the time it should take off. It truly isnt more complicated than that.
The African shrug, followed by “mais c’est comme ca en Afrique” just doesn’t cut the mustard ladies and gentlemen of this wonderful continent.
Get with the programme for heavens sake.
